Cathy Sawtell, NNP

Ms. Sawtell managed MANA’s Neonatal Advanced Practice Program for more than 20 years; and she established our role with the Vermont Oxford Network (VON), a national clinical consortium that allows us to benchmark our clinical care outcomes and statistics alongside other NICUs.  She was Co-Chair of VON’s National Multidisciplinary Advisory Committee from 2006-2014 and a Member of the Database Advisory Committee from 2007 until 2019. Ms. Sawtell has a long-standing commitment to neonatal advance practice education, acting as the Neonatology Clinical Preceptor/Coordinator for NNP students at several different Universities including Thomas Jefferson University, University of Pennsylvania, UConn and several Physician Assistant Programs. She has also been actively involved with the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) since its inception. Ms. Sawtell’s primary love is caring for extremely premature infants and striving for optimal outcomes for these fragile infants.
