Cathy Sawtell, NNP

Ms. Sawtell manages the Neonatal Advanced Practice Program at MANA, a position she has held for more than 20 years. She is extremely passionate about her job, patients and NICU families. She is MANA’s liaison to the Vermont Oxford Network (VON), a national clinical consortium that allows us to benchmark our clinical care outcomes and statistics alongside other NICUs; and has held leadership positions with VON. She was Co-Chair of VON’s National Multidisciplinary Advisory Committee from 2006-2014 and a Member of the Database Advisory Committee from 2007 until 2019. Ms. Sawtell has a long-standing commitment to neonatal advance practice education, acting as the Neonatology Clinical Preceptor/Coordinator for NNP students at several different Universities including Thomas Jefferson University, University of Pennsylvania, UConn and several Physician Assistant Programs. She has also been actively involved with the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) since its inception. Ms. Sawtell’s primary love is caring for extremely premature infants and striving for optimal outcomes for these fragile infants.
