Dr. Mimm’s esteemed career in neonatology is best characterized by the many people whose lives he’s touched. Over the past many years, medical advances and technology have dramatically changed the landscape of neonatal clinical care. Nonetheless, Dr. Mimms has remained steadfast in his commitment to connect with families at the bedside, and to provide ethical and benevolent neonatal care. Dr. Mimms has served as MANA’s Director of Medical Education, and as the Pediatric Clerkship Director for several affiliated medical schools, including New Jersey Medical School, Drexel Medical School, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Kirksville College or Osteopathic Medicine, and St. George’s Medical University. Dr. Mimms actively participates in resident training in the NICU. Over the course of his career, his commitment to medical education has been recognized by students time and again; he has received numerous awards for teaching excellence.

Dr. Mimms is the founding and current Director of neoFORUM, a regional conference for neonatologists and other neonatal caregivers, which has become New Jersey’s premier educational program in neonatology. The event, more than 10 years running, attracts hundreds of participants, shapes clinical consensus in the field, and has led to multiple collaborations among regional perinatal centers.
