Melissa Buck, MD
Neonatologist

Dr. Buck joined MANA is 2020 after completing her fellowship training in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital/A.I DuPont Hospital for Children/Christiana Care Hospital. During her fellowship training, Dr. Buck was a member of the perinatal and neonatal palliative care team providing comprehensive medical, spiritual, and emotional care to infants and their families facing critical and/or life-limiting diagnoses. She participated in mixed methods clinical research investigating the impact of the neonatal palliative care team on families of extremely premature infants in the NICU.   She recognizes the critical importance of collaborative care, shared decision-making, and open communication between families and the medical team and brings that to the bedside of each patient in the NICU.

Dr. Buck hopes to expand upon the perinatal and neonatal palliative care services available to pregnant women and neonates at MANA in the future. In addition, she intends to involve herself heavily in resident education and quality improvement that aligns practice with evidence-based standards.
