There has been dramatic progress in our understanding of neonatal physiology over the past 25 years. That has been accompanied by the introduction of a wide array of sophisticated technology for neonates and marked improvement in the survival rates of extremely premature infants. Nevertheless, complication rates are high for the most vulnerable patients. Much remains to be done.
MANA has dedicated itself to the creation of a multidisciplinary research program, ranging from pre-clinical work in the laboratory to scientifically rigorous quality improvement initiatives in the NICU. We have created a unique research environment inspired by dedicated clinicians. MANA faculty are engaged in investigator-initiated pre-clinical research and clinical trials, translational research, industry-sponsored research, quality improvement initiatives, outcomes research and post-graduate medical education.
