Marta Rogido, MD
Neonatologist

Throughout her dynamic career, Dr. Rogido’s clinical interests and clinical and preclinical research activities have been closely aligned. In the NICU, Dr. Rogido has been persistent in her support of infants with neonatal brain injury, including to ensure that they receive appropriate neurodevelopmental follow-up care. She has led a multidisciplinary team focused on the nutritional assessment and growth optimization of babies in the NICU; and championed efforts to encourage the use of breastmilk in the NICU. Dr. Rogido, a fluent Spanish speaker, puts the needs of her patients and their families first.

Dr. Rogido is a skilled researcher with a distinguished track record studying the longterm effects of excessive oxygen administration during the neonatal period and its implications in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and chronic lung disease (CLD). More recently, using cellular and animal models of neonatal brain injury, she has been working to identify neuroprotective therapeutics; and she collaborates on a study to identify genetic predictors of adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes.
