Lectures for Health Professionals
Lectures: MANA regularly invites nationally recognized leaders in neonatology to present lectures on the latest, sometimes controversial, topics in newborn medicine. These programs are attended by health professionals in multiple disciplines from all over the MidAtlantic region:
- neoFORUM: annual symposium on advances in neonatology
- Regional Nursing Conferences
- Journal Club Series: reviews of the latest medical literature
- Visiting Professor Lecture Series
- Neonatal Research Seminars
Grand Rounds: MANA neonatologists present Grand Rounds at many area hospitals on important topics related to prematurity, various neonatal disorders and research. These lectures meet ACGME requirements for CME/CEU credits. To schedule a lecture or to speak with one of our neonatologists please call (973) 971-5488. We will work with you to create a program that meets your needs.
NRP: The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is a modular course initiated by the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics to teach newborn caregivers the principles and practices of neonatal resuscitation. MANA offers NRP instruction several times each year at Morristown Medical Center, including hands-on simulation training with SimNew B, a state-of-the-art neonatal mannequin. To inquire about NRP instruction, please call (973) 971-5488.
CPR for Parents
CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is a life-saving combination of rescue breathing (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation) and chest compressions, to be administered in an emergency to someone who is not breathing.
In conjunction with Morristown and Overlook Medical Centers we offer CPR classes for the parents of infants in our NICUs. All families are encouraged to take the course. Our schedule is flexible to accommodate your needs.
To speak with one of our health care professionals about CPR training, please call (973) 971-5488.
The neonatologists at MANA have made a commitment to the advancement of neonatal care around the world, particularly in areas that are medically underserved. Our faculty have volunteered their time in China, South America and Europe, lecturing and organizing conferences on neonatal intensive care.
